Wow!! This New Years Day ride that started with two of us 8 or 9 years ago has started taking on a life of its own. This year we had about 70 or 80 riders from Victorville, Barstow, and Pinion Hills areas show up and even more as passengers and in cars! It is now to the point that about 80% of the people that show up I don't even know by name, but of course I know them as riding friends and am blessed that so many would take the time to come out and enjoy a ride and meal with us. As we grow each year, I hope that I can start putting names to all the faces that I have been introduced to. We even had Mike Carbone and Bob Hatch from YRCW show up along with their lovely ladies. I met Chet and Olivia both of whom are from the Barstow area and a great deal of other people.

About halfway through our meal at Domingoes in Boron, we were joined by 50 or 60 riders from Ridgecrest! They are always a great bunch to see. We may be getting to the point that we might have outgrown Domingoes and may have to consider a different location next year. Nothing carved in stone of course, just kicking around the idea. To most of us, it is all about starting the New Year with a ride and to catch up with friends we have not seen in awhile. The meal is just to shake off the cold and for some, the hangover. A ride with friends, now what could be a better way to start the New Year?
