We left Ft Collins and rather than enjoy the beautiful riding areas of Colorado, we rode quickly to avoid the obvious bad weather that was beginning to threaten our ride. Even riding quickly we were able to see many beautiful sites. The only real issue with riding in Colorado is the every mile police officer with a radar gun in his hand trying to catch us scofflaws that dare to ride at a comfortable speed. None caught us and there were no tickets, but sheesh, there were a LOT of them out there with radar guns. Durango is very nice and clean. The Residence Inn was probably the most comfortable room that we have ever stayed in. Except for Nick II whom slept on a sleeper sofa while we took the luxurious bedroom. And for those of you morons that cannot live one day without your dog, the hotel will let you bring your dog with you at only $75.00 per night extra. Yep, there was at least one couple of brain-deads that paid the $75 for each of their two mutts! Once again Colorado "blessed" us with crappy riding weather so we grabbed some KFC and took it back to the room. It looked like there are many very nice restaurants in Durango, but, the impending weather forbade us from enjoying them. Maybe one day we'll get back to Durango for one of the many bike runs there, it really looks like a nice place. Next: Four Corners. Click here for pictures
